Flagship projects - „Prioritized measures and activities“
Support of the flagship-report 2016 / 2017 by UN Women to assess progress, shortfalls and challenges in the implementation of the Agenda 2030 for women and girls with 950.000 Euro. (Disbursements: 650.000 Euro in 2016, 300.000 Euro in 2017).
Realization of an interactive exchange between staff members from successful GG2-measures from GIZ and KfW in the Federal Ministry for Economic Development and Cooperation (BMZ).
Increased share of women with formally acknowledged land titles in Uganda, Peru and Benin by the global project “Responsible Land Policy “by 20 – 50%.
Increase of the annual contributions to the initiative “Rights-based Family Planning and Maternal Health” by 10 Mio. Euros to a total of 100 Mio. Euros. In 2016-2019, at least 9 Mio. couples will receive access to modern family planning methods, more than 10.000 obstetricians are initially and further trained and a minimum of 800.000 births accompanied by professional medical consultation.
Euros are provided for the launch of the “Global project WASH for Millions” for the improvement of sanitary provision in schools and public institutions, especially in host countries with high numbers of refugees and countries facing internal displacement. Among others we thereby support access to schooling for girls after the onset of menstruation.
Top-up of the regional programme “Strengthening women in decision-making in the Middle East” with 3,3 Mio. Euros. Thereby we expand the positive experiences that have been made in the Palestinian territories in promoting political participation of women in urban and municipal development, to Jordan and Lebanon.
