Enhancing Women’s Rights in the Media

The Mexican journalist network Comunicación e Información de la Mujer (CIMAC), which comprises around 600 journalists and media experts, offers seminars in Mexico on effectively reporting on violence against women as a human rights violation. The network has its own news agency, which publishes a weekly press review and has a daily radio program. Over 100 media outlets participate with reports, documentaries, and news. The information published by CIMAC is used as reference material by numerous news agencies and online and print media in Mexico, other Latin American countries and internationally. CIMAC has thus brought the topic of women’s rights in Mexico to the attention of the national and international media.
