Through training and sensitization, awareness and capacities on gender issues can be achieved, in order to bring about individual or organisational change for more gender equality and to reduce the gender-bias which determines how individuals and institutions act. Through training, participants learn about gender roles and how these are influenced by the prevailing values of a culture or country. The trainings also cover the major factors that influence how gender roles are determined in the first place and maintained over time, as well as what consequences these gender roles have on different sectors (e.g. the economy, government, natural resources, agriculture).
